We told our parents and sibling right away (2 weeks pregnant) and told the rest of our families on Christmas day (6 weeks pregnant).
We are trying for #2 right now and have not told anyone except a couple friends that we are even trying. This time we will wait until 12-13 weeks to spread the news to anyone, including parents just in case of a miscarriage.
Congratulations on your baby!! I hope you enjoy every moment of your pregnancy!

With my 1st pregnancy I told everyone as I was so excited. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks and then had to tell everyone I lost the baby. Even after 1 months people were still asking me how the baby was. I also had a miscarriage with my 2nd pregnancy and I didn't tell anyone except my Mum and my best friend. Now I'm pregnant 3rd time lucky and I told my Mum and a couple of close friends. Once I had an u/s at 12 weeks I told everyone else.

As soon as I got my BFP I told my boyfriend and then my best friend. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and I'm still waiting for the right time to tell my mum. I would wait until after 1st Trimester because anything can happen in the first few weeks, but obviously its up to you

I told my mom as soon as I knew. My dad, stepparents, and grandparents all knew by the next day. The rest of my family got told around 12 weeks, along with my friends. People at work still don't know!
(I just wanted to say, I have a friend who found out she was pregnant and told everyone when she hit 6 weeks. She had a miscarriage at 10 weeks. It's still the hardest thing she's ever had to deal with, because there are still people who don't know she had a miscarriage and they are asking her how her pregnancy is going. So, I personally would wait until 12 weeks...)

I told everyone right away for my first pregnancy, and that ended up being a ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. It was really hard to tell everyone that we had to abort the baby, and made the pain worse.
My third pregnancy, I waited until the OB said it was healthy and in a good spot after the first ultrasound. She's 17 months old now, and healthy as a horse.
You have to decide if you're strong enough to have to tell everyone about a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy before you share your excitement with the world.

I waited about 2 minutes with all three of my children.
There is always a risk for miscarriage early in pregnancy, but telling close family and friends about the upcoming baby is healthy for you. It's natural to be unable to conceal your excitement! If an unfortunate thing were to happen, you have your close friends and family there to support you too.

I think it depends on the person. My hubby & I should find out on Monday...Christmas Eve!! I am high risk starting at the 2nd trimester; but, we are still thinking about telling our family and friends! We will be SOOO Excited, I don't know how we could ever keep that GREAT NEWS to ourselves!!
Congratulations!!! May you have a healthy pregnancy and a beautiful baby!! : )

It's up to you, but we told everyone within a few days of finding out. We just couldn't keep that huge secret from family members and close friends. We figured if anything were to happen, then we'd end up telling them anyway.
I did keep it from my job until I was in my second trimester.
Congrats!!!

I told everyone about 2 weeks after i found out, i couldn't hold it any longer. I think you should tell people when your ready or the time feels right. You might need support through pregnancy too, so whenever you feel right.

hmmm. my mother didn't tell anyone at first. she got pregnant her senior year of college and hid it from everyone until her second trimester when it was very noticeable. so, i don't know. i guess you should just slyly hint at it in conversation. like one day, stuff a pillow under your shirt and pretend your pregnant just to see how people will react. id they act negatively, then maybe wait a little bit. but if they welcome the idea and just laugh it off, then tell them the news. just an idea.
