with my last son,my water broke, but I didn,t go into labor.but a fever set in the next day because of it , i went to the hospital, they said I should have come in as soon as I thought it broke, they enduced labor but it didn,t work,so I ended up having a c-cection, so I,d say get to the Dr.and get checked, and allso I did not feel liquid trickle down my leg, they have a simple tab of paper that they test to see if it broke,if it turns blue, then your water broke, that nurse had no right to tell you that, she should have told you to come in and get checked.

If you are feeling liquid that you know is not pee, you are already in labor. God has spared you the contractions for now. I've decided that contractions were the devil's Idea. Nasty SOB He Is. The Good News Is I Believe the Big D is on his way out so hopefully that means the end of physical torture on women just because they are bringing a blessed and sweet soul into the world. After you give birth, let me know how you did as I'm praying the devil stays out of your delivery room. :) Good Angels Only Be With You.
God's Speed and Grace,
Nancy

Most women's water doesn't break until they are in active labor, some even have to have the doctor break the waters for them. But if you DO have your water break, you should go IMMEDIATELY to your labor and delivery center. Infection can occur since there is no protection for it anymore.
With my second child, my water broke, but I didn't go into labor. They had to induce labor several hours later, and gave me some preventative antibiotics to ward off infection.
To know for sure if your water broke or not, what will happen is that you will continue to leak fluids constantly afterward until delivery. It may only be a small drip or a gush of fluids.

you may want to go get checked out anyway. The "water" helps protect the baby from infections. If your water has broken you may or may not go into labor , but, if it has broken, you no longer will have that protection for the baby and you definitly do not want a "dry labor"
Go get checked out. The nurse would not be able to tell you over the phone and just because you have not felt labor pains or felt "trickling" down your leg does not mean your water did not break. Go get checked!!!

when my water broke, it broke at 412am and my baby was born at 628am. I didnt even realize I was in labor until my water broke. As soon as it happen, the contractions hit me really hard, I was worried I wasnt going to make it to the hospital on time. If your not feeling any contractions then it probably wasnt your water, but if your still worried you can always go get checked, I went to the hospital 2 times thinking my water was leaking. And also they say if its your water leaking then when you lay down for a few minutes and get up you should feel water leaking, because it tends to pool in your vag-i while your laying down. Good luck!

My water broke with my first son. I didn't feel any contractions for a few hours after that. And they were pretty suttle for a while. If you do feel any other fluid leaking or have anything that feels like cramping call the doctor back. And I would want to talk to the Doc. not the nurse.

Normally, yes you would go into labor shortly after, but if you don't you need to go to your doctor/the hospital relatively soon afterward. Once the water breaks the baby is susceptible to complications if not delivered. If you think your water has broken, disregard what that nurse said and go to the doctor. One nurse's opinion of your actions is not worth your child's life and it's better safe than sorry.

Go to the hospital now!!!!!!!!!! After your water breaks and it sounds like it did they have to put you on a fetal monitor.I f your labor does not stat with I believe 12 hours they have to induce for yours and your babies safety. I know this cuz it happened to me. I never had one pain till they started me on the drip.It happened like this for me 2 out of 3 times. Please go in and at the very least they will send you home cuz they can examine you to see if it was your water. Hope all goes well and Merry Christmas!

Sweetie, the same thing happened to me and I was in labor not knowingly of course, until I called my doctor...I went to the hospital at 7 am and delivered my son at 11 am.. I didn't have any contractions until I was given something to start them.
Go to the hospital, the nurse probably doesn't have any children either...How would she know how it feels...

i replaced right into an afternoon until eventually now being 38 weeks prego. The nighttime until eventually now I had a pair extreme braxton hicks contractions yet they went away. 4 hours later I awoke, feeling positive, to apply the washing room at 1am and as quickly as I stood up my water broke! I felt positive (merely gushing water lol) until eventually we've been given to the scientific institution and then my contractions right this moment began coming 3 minutes aside. they had to calm them with meds reason i for my section replaced into scheduled for a c section that very same day (breech infant), then 8:19 am Evie replaced into born! She ought to have straight forward she replaced into coming and replaced into getting worrying haha =] solid luck hun!
