My aunt was asphyxiated, carbon monoxide, plugged up a flue to the heater and the result was she was found unconscious and rushed to the hospital. My uncle, her brother, was there in her room when she awoke. She told him how he was mistaken that she had just awoke. She said she had been up and out of bed. He said no, that he had been sitting there waiting and watching her, she had not moved. The she told him what was outside the window--that she could not have possibly seen unless she had gotten out of bed. True story.

Many, many moons ago, after birthing my third child via C-section i developed a very high fever. At the time no one knew i had been infected with a nosocomial strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, so they kept telling me my fever had something to do with lactation.
After suffering fevers that went up to 104`, i started hallucinating, developing tachycardia, and producing heart failure.
I felt as if i was thrown in a washer (still don't know if it was the fever or dying) and when the spinning stopped i saw my grandfather, who was a great doctor in his time. I was not afraid, felt pain or worry, just in awe to be able to see gram pa again. He started to say something unintelligible and i felt as if i had been thrown on the floor.
Doctors say i was out for 3 minutes, but i still wish i heard what he said.
Now i know there's no reason to be afraid. You die just as when you go to sleep, no worries, no pain, no suffering.
