Is it true that the "creator" of Kwanzaa was a rapist and a hater of white people? Is it true that it is a made up African holiday to make blacks hate whites or any other race for that matter? In my opinion I would not like my children be exposed to such a bogus holiday.

Despite it's origins or the reputation of it's founder, it does not promote any type of hate. It was meant as a unifying celebration of African American peoples and to help them connect with their African roots and was not intended as a way to espouse hatred toward whites. It is based on seven principles:

Unity
Self-Determination
Collective Work and Responsibility
Cooperative Economics
Purpose
Creativity
Faith

Technically, most celebrations were once 'made up' by someone else. Did Jesus ever demand that people celebrate his birth on a day he wasn't even born? What about all the traditions that surround Christmas? Those were also made up by someone at some point and therefore could also be considered a bogus holiday. I'd like to point out at this point that I celebrate Christmas and am not against the holiday before I get flamed.
Hope I've helped.

Kwanzaa is not an African holiday at all. Yes in Africa we do have harvest festivals to gie thanks for the first crop. The festival are normally three to four days long andpraise is given to ancestors and prayers of thanks areoffered before the foods and fruits are shared out.

The founder of Kwanzaa felt that if he claimed Kwanzaa was an African festival, he would have more support. Kwanzaa is not a religious festival. Christmas and thanksgiving are still celebrated by families who celebrate Kwanzaa. I wouldn't call Kwanzaa a 'bogus' festival but an 'alternate' festival celebrated by African Americans and few Black British families.

I did not understand your question. You must just be a racist hoping the statements you made were true to discredit anything done to celebrate African culture...

Why would the holiday make blacks hate whites or other non-blacks? Have common sense.

Basically all holidays are made up to some extent so that did not make your point any more relevant....

You are perpetuating a racist attitude which is why these inequalities exist in the country today. To say your kids should not be exposed to such a bogus holiday when they have to learn about slavery was that a lie?? C'mon you must be kidding me. You are seeking an excuse to make a racist comment, just admit that and spare the intelligent people on here like myself.

Had it not been for opression and slavery maybe there would be no need for a Kwanzaa but there is. Kwanzaa is simply recognizing the significance of African Americans and the festivity; its about unity and bringing people together not hating those that are not black. Many African Americans are not even aware what Kwanzaa is so please do more research before making negative and ignorant comments about something you know very little of.

Look at the black girls cry and try to justify the phony holiday, they know it is a farce thats why they are so mad, make up things about African unity to try and put up a shield to repel the statements against this farce. Like people will ever be convinced in the legitimacy of this crap. Go ahead and defend this, it will make you frustrated because deep inside you know its a fake.

I know Kwanzaa started in 1966, but that's it.

The same reason why people celebrate christmas, duh. For its meaning. Jesus wasnt actually born on Christmas the bible never says. It also never says that there were three kings. It just says there were three gifts. So there thats the reason.
