i mean what why did voldemort want to killed harry in the first place??

Snape(who was a death eater)listened to a prophesy which said that the boy who was born in the end of July and his parents had meet and escape from Voldy 3 times will destroy the dark lord.. Snape told Voldemort this and Voldy thought that this boy was Harry. Dumbledore,who was there and heard the prophesy, told Harry's parents to hide but Pettigrew told Voldy where the Potters were. Harry's parents tried to save him and that's why Voldy killed them..

It all came down to a prophecy made by Trelawney. It was stated that the one who has the power to defeat the Dark Lord will be born at the end of July and his parents will have escaped Voldemort 3 times. Voldemort will mark him as an equal.
There were two who were born at the end of July. Neville Longbottom and Harry Potter. But Voldemort saw Harry as a threat and decided to kill him. His parents tried to protect him and were killed by Voldemort. They got into the way

Profession Trelawny made a prophecy that was overheard and reported back to Voldemort. That is why Trelawny stayed so long and Hogwarts even though she wasn't a very good teacher. Dumbledore felt he owed her protection.
The prophecy led Voldemort to believe that killing Harry Potter was necissary for his survival. Lily & James were in the Order of the Phoenix which were fighting againt Voldemort (they may have also been Aurors).
Lilys sacrifice caused the killing curse to bounce off of Harry and "kill' Voldemort instead, however, because of the Horcruxes he didn't really die.

Voldemort want to kill Harry because of the prophecy that he is the one who can defeat him. Harry's parents refused to give Harry so Voldemort killed them.

I had to do a quick read . Voldemort wanted to kill Harry. The parents defended their son with their lives. His mother, Lily was given a chance by Valdemort to save herself by giving up her son, but Lily refused and gave her life freely to sheild her son.
That selfless act of love.... oh you know the next part of the story.

tht is so easy. it all has to do with a prophecy. voldemort thought tht by killing harry then the prophecy could never become true. little did he know tht he couldnt kill harry because lily died to save harry

He was an orphan because his **** dad was a Muggle and he left his wife [Voldie's mum] and then Voldie's mum died and Voldie was left to and orphanage were Dumbledore [When Voldie was 11!!!] came to tell him he [Voldie] was a wizard.
He killed [I mean, he wanted to kill] â¥Harry⥠because Sybill Trewlawney made a prediction which was something about the Dark Lord, who will mark the one as his equal, the equal will kill him, blah, blah, blah, and the equal will "win" so Voldie tryed to kill him. Understand?
