Never. The investigations already are fine as they are.

In terms of the CIA, the reason they destroyed interrogation tapes was to hide torture-like techniques. There isn't a single authority who claims the CIA was hiding something else. So it really has no bearing of the 9-11 investigation itself, only on the question of torture.

=====================
The 9/11 investigation consists of 2 groups of study:

1) THE 9/11 COMMISSION

This was an independent, bipartisan commission created by CONGRESS in late 2002. It contained BOTH Democrats & Republicans. It's basically an analysis of the terrorist movement & our response to it.

Since I know of no SPECIFIC problem with this investigation, there's no need to repeat it.
===============================
2) THE NIST and FEMA INVESTIGATIONS

These are the technical/scientific investigations.

--FEMA along with American Society of Civil Engineers, did an extensive analysis of the WTC collapse (ASCE/FEMA World Trade Center Building Performance Study (BPS) Team)

It’s useful to see the investigation team & their credentials at: http://www.asce.org/responds/wtc_team.cfm
It's a very impressive list of experts.

NIST investigation consisted of hundreds (yes hundreds) of scientists and industry experts. Some of these are the leading authorities in the world.

Both of these investigations have been confirmed by numerous published journal articles on the collapse.

Since I have not yet seen a single SPECIFIC problem with any of these investigations, there is no reason to repeat them.

Why would you want a new investigation into the 9/11 events? We already know what happened and who did it!

Let's spend the money on prevention instead of investigation!

Ditto precisely what The Pluperfect Tense said.

Let me add to that that I am

A. A journalist, and

B. A native New Yorker

And I've never seen a shred of credible proof (despite having read and researched post-Sept. 11 studies extensively) to suggest that the attacks were anything other than terrorist attacks carried out by extremists.

I'm at a loss to explain why so many people are so desperate to believe otherwise.

What good will it do. We know it was financed with Sadie Arabian money. Terrorist act will only keep escalating. Bush strategy is keep resources( oil money) out of the hands of the terrorist. As soon as the troop pull out of Iraq it going to be a blood bath to get control of the oil revenues. That country is runned by a bunch of mafia type families. I don't have to tell about family wars. They have an old sain in Texas ( you can only keep a resourcefully guy down for so long ). The Sadie's INCOME will one day be larger (GNP) THAN THE U.S. (GNP) they sell oil to the whole world. And the will control industrial societies economy's. Well I cant teach you in one letter what it took me 10 years to learn in college. so that it.

There won't be any new investigation by the government.
They have "explained everything" in the report they put out.
Any further questions are viewed as coming from "conspiracy nuts".

Now that the CIA has admitted to obstructing the original investigation and destroying tapes, I doubt there will be and could anyone trust it.
