My 3 was a Girl I dank at least 2 mountaindews and she was born Healthy.

Not sure about the contraction,Just because it was a sharp one does not need to alarm you inless they are 5 minutes apart and you are doubled over in pain.It never hurts to call the Dr and explain this to them,They may want you to come in and check you.Better to be safe than Sorry.

Hi, My doc told me that as far as caffeine for one day I could have either two cans of pop 1 1/2 glasses of caffeinated tea, or one can of pop and two servings of chocolate. I went for the last one. Some days I don't even drink pop at all because I want more chocolate. lol. And for a long time there I gave up pop. I did it at the same time I gave up cigarettes and a few months later I had to have a can of pop. Never did go back to ciggies though.
As far as the contraction, I am exactly where you are in your pregnancy and I had one the other day while me and hubby were being close. It hurt so bad I too had to breathe through it then lay on my side. We were both a little scared so I just rested a while. But sounds like we're both pretty normal.

2 a day is absolutely fine. As far as the pain, you will probably find it was only braxton hicks contractions, they do tend to get more painful as you get further along. It is totally normal.
From what i read, yes you should limit your caffeine intake, but there are safe acceptable levels you can have every day. I know with cans of soft drink, you can have up to 5 a day, but with coke, i definitely wouldn't have anymore than 2 because the caffeine levels are higher.

if you really want a soda, have one without the caffeine. I am having a horrible time with diet coke! I know some people are like "you are going to h*** for drinking diet sodas" but I do it in moderation.

It would help to know how far along you are with those contractions.

You will be fine. As for the pain when I got that sharp pain, but I also had cramping, I went to the ER and I was having real contractions. It doesn't mean that you were though I would just call your doctor and see what they say or Labor and Delivery. Just to be sure. Good Luck

You should be cutting down on caffeine as much as possible. Have you tried drinking caffeine free Coke? It doesn't taste any different!

Everything is fine, but I would still recommend drinking caffeine free coke. Remember, if you're hopped up on caffeine, so is your little man.

consuming under 300mg of caffiene a day doesn't increase your chances of a miscarriage or having a baby with low birth weight....anything over that does.

I know Mountain Dew has 53mg of caffiene in it...(cause I have 1 a day) so I believe Coke should be right around there.

I would only drink it in moderation..
I have heard from a few people, that drinking too much caffeine also increases the chances your child will have diabetes. but only if you drink a lot.
