I believe it is from a movie. Maybe it's a historical quote.

It was said by Jack Handey. He is an American humorist. The quote was in his best known book, " Deep Thoughts." I'm not sure of the context of the quote.

i like Druid's answer but as far as i know it is Cortez or Columbus. they both want to conquer those Aztecs or indies, whatever

it was probably cortez (spanish conquerer, conquered the Aztecs and destroyd their civilization), could also be columbus on his second journey to america.
