how many people still rember were they were when henderson scored the goal in game 8 , and the chaos after thanks

I was an 18 year old kid in the navy, going to school in Great Lakes Ill, had tickets to a Black-Hawk exhibition game and was hanging out at the players entance outside Chicago stadium a couple hours before game (Hawk fans were ticked off because Bobby Hull had just jumped to the WHA, and they did not let him play in the series) and Jerry Korab came running out of the players parking lot, all excited telling everyone Henderson had scored the wining goal.

I was up a Hydro Pole in Geraldton Ontario. We had the first Storm of the season go through that week and we had to put the power back on so all the citizens could watch the game. Didn't think much of it then, still don't. It was an exciting game and goal. But getting the game taken to us by the Russians was the biggest thing of the series.

I was in grade 8. They let us go home and watch the game and I had a basement full of my road hockey buddies with me. After the game ended we got on our bikes and rode around the neighbourhood waving little Canadian flags and singing Oh Canada.

I was on a bus from Calgary to Swift Current to watch the Broncos play that night. The idea was to see Brent Leavins and Terry McDougall, but the star that night was a 16yr old kid named Bryan Trottier.
