Of course it can.
I live 40 miles north of Boston, and we have had tons of snow over the past couple of weeks.

Boston has blizzards most every year. Several years ago we had a 36'' blizzard and 2 years before that we had a 38'' storm.

Yes, and they have many times. I grew up just south of Boston, in 1978 there was a blizzard so bad school was canceled for 2 weeks.

Yes, why not? They have in the past. A blizzard is a wicked snow storm and most places from Washington DC----north have experienced Blizzards in the past.

Absolutely it's usually in the form of a Nor Easter. Where the storm tracks up the coast and the winds are hard blowing out of the North East. If it's cold enough there will be a ton of snow.

We had the Blizzard of 1997, 25.4 inches of heavy wet snow fell in 24 hours paralyzing parts of city for days. Believe me - I shoveled for days!

When the nor'easters come ashore, they can have some nasty storms...the blizzard of '78 was particulary vicious.
