When I had my sports car (Trans Am) it had to be a stick, now that I have switched to a full size pick-up I like the automatic. If I hit the lottery, I will have one of each!!

I don't really have a preference because there's good and bad things about both types of transmissions. I learned to drive in a stick shift, so I can do it just fine, and I like the way that you're more in control of the acceleration in your car with a stick shift (or so it seems anyway), but it is certainly much easier to drive an automatic if there's hills in your area!

automatic, although I know how to drive a stick very well I get scared when Im stopped on a hill, I always feel like Im gonna roll back and hit the car behind me.

Automatic hands out. Its simple to learn to drive an automatic. And there is no guess work. Park, neutral or drive. thats it.
