YES. That's where I get ALL of my pets, if at all possible. Or I pick up strays, whatever I can do. Buying pets is a waste. There's millions of perfectly nice, loyal pets out there for adoption.

We got our dog at one year old back in the 80's. I was 3 or 4. She was the best, loving, obediant, loyal, kind, people like dog I have ever met. She lived to be 17 1/2. I was 21 or so when we had to put her down. It was a very sad day. There will never be another dog like her. Mutts from the pound can make such good pets. I recommend it.

YES! I had a dog from the humane society, a retired greyhound from a closed racetrack, and a cat we "rescued" as an injured stray from a barn. They were all wonderful pets.

wow 17, that's the highest number I've ever heard of. thats cute, extremely nice of the person. I've never adopted one. my parents have bad asthma and they never allowed me to have a dog because of it. my neighbour on the other hand has 3 she adopted from the local shelter for dogs. it takes a special kind of person to take in a dog or any other kind of animal from those kind of places.

No I've never adopted a pet. I'm never home so I would not be a good animal caregiver.

WOW, that's amazing!! But no, I haven't....I can't really afford to spend much money on getting a pet, but I do get our family pets from the shelter.

yes and i got ripped off. my cat is okay but part of paying the 150 was for him to get fixed and get his shots...well they got shutdown for doing bad things and now i have to pay for everything a 2nd time, which really pisses me off.
