Is there really any point in answering your question? You seem rather set in your opinion, so I'll go ahead and give my two cents as a republican and a daughter/wife/mother. Let's see I decided on my own that everything I worked for I earned on my own without a government handout. I went to college for 3 years while working two jobs and then decided to join the US Army - proudly serving and willing to die for my country if necessary, third generation as well. I met my husband who served for 10 years and who just arrived in Iraq as a civilian contractor to advise the Iraqi's on law enforcement. I support our troops, I support law enforcement, I support our President, I have my own opinions as well as you do and the difference in the two of us is I was willing to serve our country so you could voice your opinion regardless of whether I agree with it or not.
Some people enjoy bitching about politics and some people enjoy arguing whether other views are correct simply since they disagree with their own. Others take the time and do something about it, since you're obviously a democrat, do you go to the free clinics and talk to the AIDS patients or go to the schools and talk to the under priviledged children about the value of education, do you teach the single mom's on welfare about job training so they can support themselves?
As long as everyone keeps being divided based on politics nothing will ever change, our society can't improve if we're constantly at odds with each other. Why can't people just stop arguing and do their part to help those in need? I'll get off my soapbox now but I can honestly say that I'm a republican and I have my own views and I don't agree with everyone, but I will always support the right for everyone to voice their own.

Well, my "macho daddy" has been dead for 19 years so I don't have to impress him and he was a kind man and a staunch republican. I also am a staunch republican and my husband is as staunch a democrat as I am republican and I would just like to see him try to get controlling with me!!!! If he tried to get controlling with me I would show him the door so fast his head would spin! My husband and I respect each other enough to try not to do things the other would oppose too much except for vote and we usually go to the polls and cancel each other out. I would NEVER listen to what he told me to do if it was against what I thought was right. Actually, he will most likely vote for Huckabee if he gets the republican nomination and that is a very big shock to me. There is no Democrat I would vote for. I will however take the Democratic ticket in the primary to vote against Hillary!

I was actually a democrat until about 9 years ago. In all reality, I vote independent, and vote for the person not the party. There are good and bad on both sides. Justlike humans to be like that!!! LOL! As for my "daddy", he is a dem, and my husband, he is a republican with definite Democratic tendencies... He isn't very controlling most days, I suppose he might say the same about me... Have a great day!

I don't have a macho daddy or a controlling husband nor am I out to impress anyone. I also have enough moral backbone to stick to my guns regardless of how idiotic the rest of America has become.

I don't have a husband and My father is dead. The reason I support the Republicans is because over the last thirty years, they have improved my way of life much more than the Democrats.

i didnt become a republican until my forties when i saw the abortion that clinton created out of the white house and the presidency. i dont need to impress anyone. what i also dont need from liberals is
confiscatory taxation
failed welfare schemes
burdensome regulation stifling my business
idiotic excuses for pork barrel spending
my social security that ive worked for taxed into oblivion.
polling to create policy rather than common sense.
i think you get my drift. its not about impressing someone, its about getting the government to leave me alone.

I don't vote Republican. But I'm pretty sure you are looking at a very very small minute percent that fit this category. Stereotyping is not nice.
