Near me is an old abandonded Victorian Mental Asylum, Cane Hill which used to look after David Bowie's brother who threw himself under a train at Coulsdon South train Station (my local station) and Michael Caine's brother was also there at Cane Hill who was kept secret from him by his mother until she died.
On top of a nearby hill is Chaldon Church which is 11th century with an ancient wall painting of Heaven and Hell.
I can see fields with horses from my window and I can make as much noise as I want as the neighbours dont care as long as I keep the windows shut (had full band rehearsals here for 4 years).
Coulsdon is a dead little village/town. Nothing left but Charity shops. No pubs.
No wonder I party at home and waste my time inbetween working and melting the walls with music typing questions to you good folk!
What's it like where you hang out?

I'm a Yank. All I ever hear about Surrey from americans and brits is that it's impossible to live there because its so expensive. that all the banksters, financiers, a yuppie techie area, and just wealthy and famous in general because its close to London. Do all the service workers have to commute or are there parts of Surrey where we thecommon folk can live in Surrey? I hear parts of it are wooded and beutiful fields. Again that is what i hear a lot. would be grateful for a reply. btw, is Cameron and Tories still selling off portions of the NHS. I've read a lot of horror stories in hospitals that are understaffed now because of private managment and quasi ownerships of this and that of the good old NHS. Of course in totally privitized USA 100,000+ normal patients die of under care and mistakes a year.

I live in London right next door to West Ham Football ground.
The fans (and school kids) litter the surrounding area with discarded junk food, beer bottles, beer glasses from the nearby pubs, where they get bladdered before the match, most glasses smashed or peed in. I have a Labrador x hound who tries to eats everything in sight, chicken bones being the most lethal (except the cannibis) There are loads of ethnic "minorities" some of which congregate in their cars chewing their legal drug then throw it out the window (which said dog finds very tasty). The local Council road sweepers are pathetic. There is an enormous amount of "fly tipping" littering the pavements with mattresses, broken TVs, computers, unwanted clothes, furniture, fridges etc. Why I pay my exhorbitant Council Tax, I do not know! Also said dog once managed to get hold of a full packet of cannabis and swallowed the lot when me and my son was taking him for a walk, son didn't see it, as the fellow nearly knocked him flying. I did, but wasn't quick enough pulling him back. I suspect the person who dumped it was on the run from either the police or local drug dealer, of which there are plenty. Had horrendous vet bill, good job I have insurance with no excess, and now will have to muzzle him. Can't get a move because son can't afford a mortage, and private rental is very expensive. So anyone thinking of moving to this area,
DON'T!!!!!!!!

I live somewhere in North Carolina. Far out in the country with alot of fields and some horses near by. There is an old time church right across from my house with this huge field that I like to walk my dog in.
My neighborhood is full of cats, including my own. So its like kitty hang out central.
As far as my home town, where I live its rather quiet and peaceful, picturesque country side. But go a few miles south and the town is slowly booming into a big shopping center with a whole lot of stores, business, malls etc...
When I want to waste time I usually go walking down the old dirt roads with my sisters huge german shepard (for protection) Not the most exciting life I know, but I'm happy

I live in a village (it's more of a small town) in Northamptonshire, England, it sucks because the chavs keep throwing bricks through the windows, for fun you can hang out on the square drinking with the chavs (not so much since they removed all the benches) we also have an overdose of pubs and Indian restaurants and hairdressers.

I live in Rhyl, N.Wales. Just demolished the fun fair for a new Asda's and posh flats. The sea front is a disgrace and i'm a shamed to be a local. There's nothing for the youths to do, as they are our lively hood. God help us all. Don't visit Rhyl as it's a **** hole. There is nothing for tourism here.

I live in the OC in Calif.(not Cali). I live about 15 min. from Disneyland. I love the weather here and other things. I hate how the OC is getting too built up(more and more houses and condos going up= more and more people and traffic.) Ugh.. I love the beach, too.. And the malls. South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa and Fashion Island in Newport Beach. And if I want to be an audience member for different tv shows or late night shows, I would be able.. My favorite radio station (talk radio) is KFI, here from Los Angeles and heard by me here..

I live in Punta Arenas,Chile,(South America)
it's a nice little town 2 hrs away from the south pole. We have beautiful landscapes here wih impressive mountains and lakes nearby. But the town itself is sort of boring, and the biggest set back in my opinion is that like in all small towns ppl looove to gossip.
