I'm really wondering what i should get my best friend for Christmas, i don't want to get him something easy to buy, but something that he'll realize that thought kinda went into it, that kind of thing. so if anybody has suggestions that's be great.

A gift card would be your best bet. If he likes music or automotive stuff, get a card similar to his interests. This way it's not a gift, but a way of saying "Hey dude, thought about you this Christmas" without sending the wrong message or feeling awkward about your gift choice.

It depends on what he likes. You could get him some cologne or if he likes to read then you can get him a good book, or a jacket/sweater.

I would probably go with some cologne and a nice jacket/sweater. Cologne isn't that expensive (20$-80$+) and a jacket shouldn't be neither.

Also I wouldn't go with a gift card or gift certificate unless I had to or unless I barely knew the person I gave it to, because not much thought is put into it.

It depends on what he likes. Most guys never get enough guy time, especially married ones. Maybe you could plan a day for the two of you or a larger group of guys can hang out and just relax. The holidays can be stressful so I think he would like the chance to relax and spend time with a friend or group of friends.

That's really not what you should be asking random people. How could they know him better than you? If it's support you want than I say go ahead, you've already put some time to it. It could be shame for it to go to waste. If you worry that giving "too thoughtful" gift might ring a gaydar or something you're thinking too much (in that direction at least) because that's kind of stupid.

Just consult yourself (or maybe somebody else who knows him).
