Okay, last night I had unprotected sex, which I know was slightly stupid of me, but it happens. I'm 18 years old and I've been put on birth control for hormones...namely the birth control "Nuvaring". Now here's the problem.. I've left the nuvaring in longer than you're supposed to, and the guy I was with last night ejaculated inside me. I read the manual this morning and it says that if you leave the nuvaring in longer than 4 weeks there's a possibility that you can get pregnant because your body can't produce the right hormone to prevent it.. So.. do you think I could be?

There is a possibility that you may be. However, don't freak out about it yet. I just recently had a scare. I am 21 and was on birth control when it happened. I ended up being over a week late on my period. But I went out and got a test. It was negative and I started the next day. Just because it was in longer than it should have doesn't autimatically mean that you got pregnant. You should be more careful. Unless you really want a child, you should know when you need to change it.

well you could be then you mabey your not. your not going to know right now its going to be a while before you can even test. when your on the nuvaring or any type of birth control you need to be careful. if you don't want to get pregnant i would sugjest that you use a condom as well. if one fails you have a back up. not only that but a condom will protect you from any STDs as birth contorl and only protect you aginst pregnancy (if used correctly) please be careful there are so many STDs these days. even if a guy says he has been checked. protect YOURSELF. if your concerned you should go and see your doctor. good luck
