My husband never asked me to marry him. He said that one day he would ask me to marry him, we both laughed, and the next thing I knew, he was asking my mom for her permission to marry me.
I've always liked the whole romantic idea of the man getting on one knee and asking his future wife to spend the rest of her life with him. Or becoming one person before God.
