The father is said to be Casey Aldridge, 19 at the time of conception, whom she met through church. Spears stated shortly before Thanksgiving that she had no steady boyfriend. Because Spears was legally still a minor, and the three-year age difference, Aldridge could be charged with statutory rape, but prosecutors may be unlikely to do so. (Maybe there's a special exemption for residents of trailer parks.)

I thought it was called statuatory rape if one is over 18 and the other isn't. No idea if this matters only if the girls parents pursue and arrest.
Cannot believe she did not just go back home and quietly have a baby away from the limelight.
The Spears girls crave attention and that is starting with the mom.

yes. but it is up to the parents to file suit. You ever heard of '15 will get you twenty' or '16 will get you ten'? That's how many years it is punishible by in some states...Anyone under 18 is a minor and 18+ are adults. Adults and minors don't m ix very well when it comes to sex...

It depends on which state they had committed the act. In some states, the age of consent is 16, in others, its 18. If he had violated this law, he can be charged with statutory rape.

Yes, of course it is illegal. But you know with celebrates they get away with everything, just look at Michael Jackson. Need I say more? It seems like the law doesn't apply to them!
