I'm trying to watch them on Netflix.com (not through Windows Media Player). I don't even get an error message, just a solid green box. I have audio, just no picture.

If it isn't the right encoding, no update of codecs will help. I am assuming because you mention codecs that you are trying to watch something on media player. Try Quicktime(most likely candidate) or Real player. I'll bet the file will play on one of those.

You should still be able to select which player you want the videos to play on. Look at the options listed on the page and choose another player.

When the file doesn't play in the media player it also gives an error code. Copy and paste that error code in www.live.com or www.google.com search. That should tell you what codec does it need. Once it gives you the name then you do a search on that codec, download it and install it. Then you can download that specific codec.

Don't install Real Player, it's the worse player and will slow down your computer because it doesn constant updates.
