LITY I definitely have to disagree. I am a first nations member and live in a military community. I am embarrassed on both counts.

It wasn't the discussion about Simon's suspensions that upset me. It was his antics when he didn't think Maclean had a point about possible mistreatment on Chris Simon because of his racial background. My anger peaked when he wouldn't accept a possibility that the NHL might have some discrimination issues. My embarrassment increased when with his flag waving for his show on the backs of my friends in Khandahar (I have 15 friends over there). They love the support but crocodile tears and false "love ya boys" are a little tough to take.

I don't like Cherry to begin with, but I genuinely felt embarrassed for him tonight. It was tough to watch. I mean, justifying Chris Simons actions by saying that the guys he attacked didn't miss any time was bad enough, but Cherry was acting like a toddler throwing a tantrum by the end.

ron McClean was trying to say, that maybe Simon feels like he is not going to get a fair shake, because he is a minority, and he compared that to the Ted Nolan deal, with Muckler and the Sabres. He was trying to compare it to an issue of racism. Simon was wrong, we all know that, but Grapes was saying, that both big suspensions Simon recieved, the guys he hit, never missed a game. Also, that Ruutu, and Holleweg, are both instigators, and they shouldnt be surpirised, when players have enough of their crap. Its not a race issue at all, Simon was wrong, PERIOD. Ted Nolan, was a drinker, and a womanizer. My inlaws, are from the Buffalo area, and my father-inlaw, worked closely with the former Sabres owner. So, thats not speculation. Grapes is Grapes, and they have played this act for years. Ron speaks, Don gets mad, and they bicker. I find it amusing.

I think Grapes called a space a space by questioning Brad Richards better half, why bring up race when race isn't the issue.

What was Mclean's point anyways was it because Simon is 1st Nation that he does these things or that us middle-class tax payers need to give up more money for more social programs for people that make poor decisions.

Don was mad (and it's his show) but Ron screwed up and to his credit tried to make it better so everything worked out even

All that was typical Cherry, not surprising. But what I found hilarious was when he trashed David Suzuki's involvement with NHL players to promote their non-partisan green project. Cherry says something to the extent of: Why was he on the air, Let talk about Hockey! Then he cuts to his segment about the war. Yes Don let's talk about hockey. And what was with that rant about baby Jesus .... he IS losing it and Canadians pay his salary. At least some of it

I didn't think he came close to losing it.

As far as the 'Hollweg and Ruutu' not missing any games and thinking his penalty should be reduced, the NHLPA sent a letter to Colin Campbell requesting that his suspension be reduced drastically. Cherry just happens to agree with it.

What can one ever think about Don Cherry? He is opinionated and quite openly. You either love the guy, or hate him.

I'm not a doctor, and I don't know his business, but I suspect that we are all witnessing the effects of the consumption of mental meds, alcohol, and caffeine.
