yes, i think it is perfectally fine. im 15 years old . and on bc.
most parents think that giveing these BC devices to teenagers are going to urge them to have sex.
and it doesn't sometimes there used to regulate periods.. and are needed. sometimes its for sexual reasons.. i think that it is perfectaly fine and there not going to want to go out and have sex just because of this.

Sort of. It's ok, but handing teenagers birth control devices could send out the wrong message, but having a place in the school or youth centre where they are readily available would be a good idea. There should be more sex education as well, the abstinence only program is not working, the US has the highest teen pregnancy rate of all the western countries.

I think a teenager on birth control is better than a teenage mother. But as a mother I would not want my teenaged daughter prescribed any type of medication or device without my knowledge.

I think you should, and shouldn't at the same time.
I mean, it's better to be safe then sorry. but at the same time, giving your child birth control devices is like saying it is ok to have sex now. it all depends on the child and if you, as a parent, don't think you can stop your child from having sex, might as well give it to them. but try your best to talk to them the importance of not having sex until you're older and it can be emotional with someone you might be willing to spend the rest of your life with.

Look at the Amish community for that answer. They dont hand out condoms and birth control and they dont have out of wedlock mothers living off welfare while the dad is running away from child support and being involved in the child's life who will probably grow up to go to prison one day.
Looks like they are doing something right that the rest of society isnt.
Find out how they go about dating and marriage.

I also think it is perfectly fine. It wasn't so long ago that I was a teenager, and they are rebellious. Teens are going to do what they want to do, and I think it is a wise decision to make birth control so that what they do can be done safely.

Boneheaded teens who have sex without protection spread STDs. In addition, when the girls get pregnant, we have a boneheaded teen, who loves a child too much to give it up, raising a baby she is not prepared to care for. How do we expect this generation of babies to turn out? They won't be senators & presidents, I can tell you that.
1. Kids shouldn't be having sex in the first place. Abstinence!
2. Kids who are sexually active spread STDs.
3. Kids who are sexually active with protection don't spread STDs.
4. Kids who are sexually active become parents.
5. Kids who are sexually active with protection get to grow up before raising children.
6. Pregnancy in teens is traumatic to everyone involved. The mom gets to choose whether or not to keep the child. The child gets raised by unfit parents, or aborted, or given in adoption. All of these items will bring regret for both teens' entire lives.
7. Kids who are taught abstinence need "emergency protection." If making out gets too heated, they need to have a way to prevent either child from contracting STDs or to prevent the girl from conceiving a child.
We've taught our children; we've given them their morals; we've let them loose in the world. Whether or not they have adopted our morals, giving them birth control is the best way to protect our children when we aren't there. If they accepted our morals, they won't use the protection.

you can teach a child/teenager anything and everything about sex and tell them not to do it until they are married/ready/older, but they are going to do whatever they want to do.
I was raised in the south in a strong Christian home, but was very curious and lost my virginity at 15. My parents never talked to me about using protecton or anything about sex in general. Thank goodness I never got pregnant or contracted an STD. I am happily married now at 21 and pregnant.
If you give a child protection, it isn't saying "go ahead and have sex!" It is saying "I don't really approve of this behavior, but if you choose to be sexually active, I want you to protect yourself and your partner"

This is a catch 22 situation.
I honestly don't know what I'll do when my boys are teenagers. I'm going to try to educate them as much as possible about sex (well, hopefully their dad will), and that includes telling them how very easy it is to get condoms.
