Who on here hasn't the Christmas Spirit. I haven't, maybe it's because my children (adults) are getting older. I only put decorations up as my 21yr old daughter loves Christmas and she knows i don't like Christmas very much but i make an effort. Is it because there older or am i Scrooge . lol

I don't believe that you're as tight as you make-out ..... I mean!...You're not as tight 'because' you make-out ;)

I don't like Christmas as well.
Already weeks earlier the hassle starts, and there are christmas songs in the radio (usually with anoying bells, and lyrics about snow and stuff),
and if you work in an office there will be secret santa (and you can be sure you get something completely useless) ...And there are allways so many sweets that you get sick, LOL.

And the worst thing, is you HAVE TO be in a Christmas mood! (whatever this is supposed to be)

This year, I fly away over christmas, just a short trip with a good friemd, this way, I have something to look forward too. :-)

Try the same! If you cant fly away, try to do something on christmas what you like very much, this way, you will look forward to it.

I,m working in a pub on Christmas day as I have done for a decade or more. I enjoy it, helping to provide a nice Xmas for the customers.
After that I'll be cooking aTurkey dinner for my brother, two nephews and a workmate who is alone this year. I get a kick out of watching people eat food I've made.
Then I'll get pissed.

Your photo is scary!!!!

I am not feeling very Christmassy yet but i know from past experience it will 'be alright on the night'

my kids have grown up now and its hard to get that same festive feeling
I long for the days of my childhood when Christmas was such a magical time, its sad to think that those days will never come again eh?

Happy Christmas to you, you will be fine when it arrives :0)

I seem to have lost the spirit this year too for some reason. I have an eight year old and his excitement is rubbing off a bit on me now but something is missing. Maybe its cos I'm getting older and it just seems like a hassle at this stage. anyways hope you have a good xmas.

its because they are older.. the mess with decorations is just a nightmare, its not being a scrooge, your just happy to let it go by a little less stressful. A small tree is sufficient just as a sign that its xmas but nothing too over the top.

i haven't had the christmas spirit in years. my kids have been grown and gone a long time. the only decorations i bother putting up is a wreath on the door and a very small table top (fake) christmas tree.
i leave it decorated and place it in a garbage bag so that the next year if i bring it out, it's done.

Christmas isn't as much fun when you're an adult and your children don't believe in Santa . I haven't much spirit this year either. My siamese cat keeps tearing down my tree and I'm getting sick of fixing it back. It's safe to say that Santa won't be coming to see him this year. oh well,Merry Christmas anyway !

scrooge. I'm 52, all kids grown and gone, but it is still a wonderful time of the year!.. i will admit the first few were kind of hard, but after a while you get to looking at it through different eyes.

I'm with you. Christmas isn't as "merry" as it use to be when my kids were young. They're in their 20's now, and have moved out, so i feel like i'm decorating for nothing. Oh well, try to have a Merry Christmas anyways :-)

there's no Scrooge like an old scrooge until you're given the Dickens!
