Are there any good anime mecha cartoons out there?? Ive heard of evangelion, gundam and all that but I was wondering are there any new ones out in 2006 2007 2008.
pls dont say macross saga I dont wont any old school anime.

Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann is one of the best anime of 2007. I don't even really like mecha anime, but this one is different. It's funny, there's a ton of action, and the story is huge. You won't wanna miss this one

How about MacrossF / Macross Frontier then? It's a TV series that will start airing next year (2008) in Japan as part of the 25th anniversary on Macross.
It featured the VF-25 as the main Variable Fighter.
A New Macross class type colony ship (first appear in Macross 7) attached to a bunch of Megaroad-ish colony ships (first appear in Flashback 2012).
Rinka Lee as the cute singer aspiring to be an idol, Sheryl Nome as the famous newly risen idol, and Alta (something, I forgot his surname) as the ace pilot.
Plus lots of other characters, including Sheryl's relative that is an U.N. Spacy officer.

Code Geass WAS excellent. Definitely give it a try. It gives off a Death Note type feeling- only it's a mecha. Gurren Lagann is one of the most highly rated series of this year, and it is also a mecha. Lasty, there is ALWAYS more Gundam out there is you want it. Another series of Gundam (00) is airing as we speak.

If you liked Starship Troopers then watch Blue Gender. It is the same but with mecha in it.
Other names : Full Metal Panic, Soukou no Strain, Rahxephon, Escaflowne (oldies but still great),

I like the Big O. I'm not really into mecha and this is a short show. I like it. I'm not sure how old it is, but it couldn't be more then 10 years
