I like for the ones at my house to be understated and tasteful, but I love to ride around and look at all the flashy, tacky ones. They are so much fun!

Let me guess by the way that you stated your question, you like understated.....
The lights and the flash are for kids...and kids like flashy gaudy, tacky and totally in your face. The brightest and as colorful as they can get. If your doing it to impress the Rockefeller's your doin it for the wrong reason.

Tasteful. Some people can go all out and still keep it from being tacky, but some people just go way to far.
