I've been really close friends with this guy for about a year and I feel like we're in love. He won't date me though, because I'm only 19 and he's 43. He told me he wants to wait until I'm 21 before getting anymore serious with me. We've kissed but we haven't had sex, and it's been awhile since he's kissed me. Does he really care about me or is he trying to put me down lightly?

there are other reasons why a 43 year old guy would be single, maybe he has other goals in life that don't consist of getting married and having kids?

not healthy or not typical? I'm a very open minded person and look passed the fact that he's 43. he's obviously a very smart, caring person to wait to have sex with me. he cares about me more than anyone in this world does. and i believe he really loves me, because he is still there for me, even if we aren't in a romantic relationship.

I wouldn't say love but I would definately say he likes you, he just sounds like those types of men who are too scared to date anyone under 21! .. Hold on some more, it's no biggie :)

Honey he is almost a quarter of a century older than you are.He may not want to have kids, do you want to have kids?
Why isnt he married?
A guy that age know he can manipulate a teenage girl easily whereas a woman his own age he cannot.
Try some guys closer to your own age hon.Chances are he just wants sex, and even if he dont, marriage would be a disaster for both of you.

He's never going to get any more serious with you. He is just telling you what you want to hear.
He is trying to slowly distance himself from you because you aren't giving him sex. And you shouldn't be....He is old enough to be your father! YOU ARE 24 YEARS APART.
Is he married? I mean, what kind of man wants to be with a girl who is that much younger....THE KIND OF GUY WHO CAN"T GET A GIRL HIS OWN AGE BECAUSE HE'S A CREEP!

Ok you need to go see someone about this that s not healthy. I am glad he is keeping you at bay he is a smart man. You need to seek some counseling for this it is not healthy to be like that.

I don't think he is totally interested in you, because you are over the legal age or maybe he is afraid what people will think about the big age difference, talk to him and ask him.
