If non-Christians get Christmas Day off, shouldn't Christians get Jewish and Muslim religious holidays off? I mean, it only seems fair.

I'd first advocate that Jews and Muslims should get Jewish and Islamic holidays off before we worry about the Christians.

Your question also begs the question of why Christmas is a "day off" in the first place.

i do no longer understand approximately Muslims and Jews. i'm a Hindu. I share it with my Christian pals and co-workers. At my workplace, an afternoon until now Christmas, we hug one yet another thrice (left, good and left) and prefer one yet another a satisfied Christmas. some close ones invite for a manage and we attend it too. And on the boxing day, we don't have a holiday right here and it passes off basically as yet another day.

Well, around here the only Christian holiday we get off, IS Christmas. We don't ever get Easter Sunday, or Ash Wednesday or (reaching here) Halloween, St. Patrick's day, St. Valentine's day etc... and many retail places ARE open on Christmas day.

You have to take into account too, that OVER 75% of Americans identify themselves as Christian.

well...i think the difference is that christmas isn't deemed as just a christian holiday anymore. When you think about it...christmas has been very commercialized....apposed to all the other holidays that have stayed religious.

You must be very young (or very optimistic) to think anything in this world is truly fair! While we are sitting here asking and answering silly questions, there are folks being shot at or starving to death (and most of them because they are busy arguing about whose religion is right!)

they should... but seriously i don't think the world will change even if it's not fair. it sucks because it makes people with other religions feel like they arn't as important. They are though of course. (i don't have a religion)

They should get all the atheist days off too - that's every other day of the year.
