You must live in a nice warm dry house where the ants are very happy. They are all in hibernation here in Ireland at this time of the year, but are around in thousands in the summer. They are not harmful to people but you do not want any insect walking around your house and food. You can get ant killer liquid which the ants will bring back to the nest and feed to the queen and larvae. This may take a while to work as there will still be ants alive who have not taken the poison. Eventually you will see a reduction in the amount of ants around the house. You should also seal up any cracks they are coming in through, though they are very determined and may break through. Pesticides used in contact with humans are dangerous. Do not use it anywhere there is food or where it may be eaten by humans, be careful of babies and small children who will eat anything.

Ants are not dangerous mainly just a nusants the best thing for ants is a product called terro it comes in a big orange bottle and is specifically for ants you can spray it directly on them or as a perimeter things it kills on contact. As for toxic read the labels most the time once it dries it is safe for humans and pets you can use that or Home Defense by Ortho is another great product you can use this outside of your house as well as a perimeter guard....also the small bait squares work really well they enter these sqaure plastic container take the poisions to their colony as food and soposibly kills the colony but these are all common methods i would use to treat these problems

ants dont generally do much to humans but they are known to bite, it hurts a bit lol.

Pesticide - they do contain some harmful chemicals esp when first sprayed they can easily be inhaled, bu just follow the instructions on the packet and the dangers are reduced significantly.

If you have pets and children get a safer pesticide, non-tocix to pets and humans, dont know any brands but they do exist, check B&Q, Woolworths, etc

I had an ants invasion in my house once. I think it was because we had cracks in the kitchen, like in the corners of the walls down near the fridge.

Anyway, one day, Mum made my lunch for school. I opened up my bag .....
Ants were in my lunch box: Loads of little dots all over my sandwiches.!!

LOL.

My friends let me share theirs ..

Even though I was only nine or ten, it was still embarassing!!!

Eventually, my dad filled the cracks up and we haven't had any trouble for about ten years now.

Yipeeee!!

It's a bit cold for ants this time of year. If you do have them there is a product available in the UK called Nippon. They make it in a powder or gel. The gel is more effective and does not wash away so easily by the rain.

Ants are not harmful to human beings. You could use boric acid.Boric acid is poisonous to ants acting on their exoskeleton, and is not harmful to humans. However, boric acid should not be inhaled by human beings.

I think Nippon is the stuff to use. You put it where the ants run. They love it and tell all their friends so they can all take it back to the nest - and then it kills them all.
