The hair over the face, those hideous tight jeans that narrow down to the ankles, the stupid gangster white shirt+ low jeans combo, boxers showing, Abercombie/Hollister gear, and wearing clothes that make them walking billboards...

Don't teenagers have their own mind anymore? Why do they conform to these irritating trends?

Oh... and don't get me started on those uggs.

You guys have a point with the 80s and 90s, but I wasn't born in the 80s, and I was only 7 when 1999 died out.
I'm 13, and I don't own a thing from Hollister, etc. Call me stingy, idc.

Individuality has never been a part of youth culture, regardless of the country, government system, or religion. You may think you're an individual, but after reading your profile, I can pretty well visualize and group you into about 10 different faces and body styles, and 5 different cliques; one of them HAS to be accurate.

You're just noticing how ugly the new popular fashion and styles are... Hideous I agree.

Name one decade in the last century where this was not the case.

I don't do any of that, if it makes you feel better.

"I'm 13, and I don't own a thing from Hollister, etc. Call me stingy, idc."

Oh. Well, people are sheep, simply put. They tend to follow the flock.

Oh yeah because back in the "good ole days" teens had their own minds and never conformed to trends. You have to be kidding. I've looked through old yearbooks and its actually quite funny how each generation conforms to certain looks, hairstyles and trends.

i agree with you but not all teens are like that. i know it's hard to believe but i'm not like that

i strive to be different that what you say
i agree that most people my age are like clones of each other. and i don't like it that they are not independent at all
it seems like trends control their lives .. music, clothes, language, food, etc.. what's in or what's not? who is THAT powerful to say that one should not wear/do/listen/say something?
i extremely dislike abercrombie/hollister etc because i know that EVERYONE in my school wears it. i want to stand out and be my own person. and i want other people to do the same!
oh n did i mention some of the music that is considered "cool" now? what happened to talent?

1. They get it from MTV and that channel that used to be the WB then changed to something else and has those shows with those kids that have sex all the time and in my day were only shown on HBO and Cinemax and they play their music too loud and whatever happened to ripped jeans and hairspray?

2. When did we turn into our parents?

*I don't wear stuff that make me look like im out of a billboard lol! I try to personalise my outfits and wear what i feel comfortable in.

*I agree! the EMO look is an IRRITATINGLY COMMON look!

you're right because teenagers start look like manufactured clones, and SHEEPS.

they want to look like their favorite artists for example. hey why you think corporations throw $$$ billion on addies with teen look artists. because they have target kids, who most succetable to addy. they see they, want look like them and they do ask parents, and of course parents aren't able to reject to their "teddy bear" and give them hard earned or maybe on so hard earned $$$.

oh...that look you've described exactly EMO look. LOL
