Lillian - "easier on the battle field then it is in the war room" You obviously were never in a war.

Oh brother. You mean like FDR fought WW2? How Truman fought in Korea? How LBJ fought in Vietnam?
The military obeys the CIVILIAN Commander-In-Chief because that's the way the Constitution is written.
Don't be so lame.

It's all about commanding a military campaign, it's not about showing people how to personally get the job done, it's getting the job done. The job changes, but still has to be done. If every President that ever was in office personally went to the front line and fought the war themselves, then we would have at least twice as many Presidents by this point in history, wouldn't we? And, go think about it, wouldn't that weaken the sovereignty of the United States of America?
Momma always said, "think before you speak."
And, Cheney's had a rough day, so don't mind him.

Why don't you as the questioner look back at the original vote of the House and Senate who approved the action in Iraq and see who ALL the chicken hawks were. To make the statement you have made and want others to believe is an absolute falsehood. Haven't seen any rank either before or after your name!!

Sometimes its easier on the battle field then it is in the war room. What do you mean for nothing? Just because you are not smart enough to understand, it does not take away from the cause.

Until you been in a war room shut up.

Can you tell us the last president or VP who faught in a battle?
I didn't think so. and why would you expect Bush or Cheney (Who has heart problems) to go into battle?
The facts are that civilian leaders do not fight and you know this. So your question is moot.
ANd our soldiers are not spilling their blood for nothing, they are giving 25 million people a chance to be free. Sir that is not nothing.

What president ever fights in the wars that their countries are involved in? Come on, they are not hiding, but they are not going to grab a shotgun and shoot someone in the face, well not over there anyway.

Why? because they are the leaders of this country. They are the commanders in chief. Some of them were once analysts and strategists. And some of the greatest warriors did fight with their men.
