This psycho girl (who was my friend but obviously not anymore) and i got into a verbal argument at work. It was a lot of questioning on my part, and her calling me names. I walked away and said "dont worry you'll get yours someday" but what i meant by that was karma is gonna kick her ***, not me actually doing something. So she she said something threatening in return, but i can't remember what it was. I found out at work today that she called work to ask where the police station was. Supposedly went there and reported me for "threatening to mess with her car". We never even mentioned her car! She obviously is falsely accusing me. Do you think i can get in trouble? This was yesterday and the cops have not contacted me yet. What precautions should i take?

Are there any witnesses? If not then its her word against yours. They may question you but nothing will come of it. Just watch your back as she may try to set you up for something.

The cops probably won't do anything. It is "You said, she said" at this point and the police has to believe her that you would damage her car. I would stay away from her and her car so as not to give her any excuse. She might be out with her camera to catch you near her car, so if I were you and know where it is parked, I'd walked in the next aisle.
Filing a false police report is illegal, but it will be hard for you to prove based on that "you said, she said" thing with more solid evidence. So I would just let it go. You could keep a journal in case she comes back to harass you again. If she keeps up, you can even file a restraining order against her or call the police.

Seems you have a pickle of a friend here.:-) You really must stay away from this individual and never be alone in private and ensure someone is present if there is any personal contact. Now the interesting part of this story is she had to call work to find out where the police station is. This does seem somewhat odd, and in my thoughts a method to intimidate you. Why would she just not go to the police station I am sure this woman would be well well aware of where they are located with said temperament. In some jurisdictions I have been advised it is an offense in itself to threaten to charge someone additionally there is a small issue referred to as mischief. It would seem your primary worry is ensuring you are far far away from this individual. You may want to keep a journal of any contact or statements or anything that seems out of the ordinary in the event you need such. Best of luck

If I were you, I would go to the police station and find out. Sure enough, if something happens to her car, they are going to turn to you, since the report was already made. Talk to your boss at work. Let someone know the situation. That way if she decides to take her lies any further, you will have a witness.

Sounds like she wants attention. Why did she call work to find out where the police station was? If she was going to file a report, couldn't she have just called them to come out to her? And if they refused, couldn't she have asked them where the police station was?
I would just wait this out. Hopefully, nothing will happen to her car in the meantime...

She would need somebody to come forward as some sort of witness, to back up her statement. I suggest you avoid all contact, keep a diary of any contact that may occur, (including the fact she came to your work place!). If she begins to be too much of a pest, get a reliable person to be with you when you confront her with the fact that if it continues, you are going to take action against her.

The worst case scenario is you'll need to find a lawyer. But from your description she appears to seeking attention. I would suggest finding another job.
