We eat, exploit, hunt, experiment and exterminate them, just to number the main ones, and then we claim to be "superior". I would say that we are superior in cruelty.
It is time for us to dump our "superiority" by showing that the most intelligent animal in this planet is intelligent enough to recognize other animals as equals and not as slaves.

Doc Hudson does not understand the language of love. He is a pathetic ignorant conformist without any notion of right or wrong.

It's a wonderful ideal, but I'm afraid it won't happen any time soon.
First of all, the human race would have to become vegetarian.
Then, in many parts of the world, animals are used a lot for work (in effect, they're pretty much slaves.)

Actually, I'm not even so sure we are "the most intelligent animal in this planet"; maybe whales and/or dolphins are.

You've been playing with your food too much again.

When was the last time you drove down a four-lane superhighway built and designed by a non-human animal?

When was the last time you read a newspaper written and printed by an animal?

When was the last time you spoke or wrote in a language developed by animals?

Yes, animals have feelings, and yes they should be treated humanely, but calling them equal to humans is not only idiotic, but totally illogical.

You want to learn about cruelty? Watch a cat playing with a mouse. Watch a pack of wolves pull down a elk. Or a pack of African Wild Dogs eating a Gembok calf alive. Some people say that man is the only animal to hunt for sport, I say bull crap. Lots of predators will kill just for the joy of the kill without even taking a morsel of flesh. Most of the cat species, the weasel family, foxes, and some of the canines will commit joy kills. You can learn a lot about cruelty by watching animals

If you are so big on animal equality and all that crap, why don't you go up to Alaska and take "Grizzly Man" Treadwell's place. Live with the Coastal Brown Bears in brotherhood and equality. See if you can last as long as Treadwell did before you become bear poop.

Or try living with a pride of lions, or mingle with a herd of Cape Buffalo, or Red Water Buffalo.

Sober up, wake up, and look at life as it is, not the way some demented vegetarian would have it be.

Humans are unique among life forms on the planet because we have evolved huge brains which enable us to make choices contrary to our instincts, to know that life is temporary, to appreciate art, etc. -- things no other animal is able to do. It's not so much a question of superiority as it is of evolutionary difference.

So, while abusing animals is degenerate behavior, treating them as if they had human attributes can't be anything beyond a diversion-- animals actually do not have human emotions.

tell you what, when animals build the wheel & can create fire on thier own, then i might give 'em some respect.
you're delusional, animals have not proved themselves to be equal, yes we are tyrants in the animal kingdom, but we have earned our way to be that way.

Doc Hudson puts things in perspective better than me...
