well we were arguing and it just escalated..I don't think he meanty to hit me in the face but did..I'm stubborn and hard headed and really really know how to push his buttons...I know I didn't deserve it, but believe me I got even with his ignorant a**

It depends on the situation.
If it's an ongoing thing where you live in fear of physical abuse, call the cops and seek out marriage counseling/anger management.
If it's a one time thing and he didn't mean to hit you with the phone and he was truely sorry for it, then I think you should have used your femanine powers to really make him feel guilty about it. Cry a little, tell him how you can't believe you married a woman beater... Tell him he needs to earn your trust again. Basically give him a guilt trip he'll never forget. You know what buttons to push to make him feel really insecure about himself/his actions. Forgive him, but let him know that if he ever hits you again you'll make him wish he married Lorena Bobbit instead.
If you feel like you need to seek out some marriage counseling do it.

I think I would have left the house. For if this was the first time this has happened. Just the fact that he threw the phone at you speaks volumes, he knew the phone would hit you. He may not wanted to hit you in the face but nevertheless he wanted to hit you with that phone. So he had intentions of doing you bodily harm. Now the reason I say I would have walked away is I would have so pissed off and enraged I would have been scared I will kill the sob and spend the rest of my life in jail...But really you need to consider his true feelings towards you.. I know that arguments can become heated but when they cross the line and become physically abusive or even verbally abusive it is definitely time to reconsider things but definitely put some well needed distance between you two..

well retaliation no matter how good it sounds does not justify what he did. id call the cops and have him arrested for assault then see how he acts after that. if he changes then maybe he wont do it again but if it is an ongoing deal it would be time to pack your things and hit the road and leave him in a trail of dust. i once saw my brother in law punch my sister and i went and beat him in the knees with a baseball bat he hasnt touched her since. all depends on how you can control the situation but if it is an ongoing deal get out before he does something even more stupid or hurts you even worse maybe he will wake up

this is considered assault under domestic violence. No man ever needs to hit a woman with his fists or anything else under any circumstance except for life and death self defense.You should have pressed charges and had him arrested, but of course there are other childish things to do to him or even leave him but nothing would have hurt him as bad and as for so long as a domestic violence charge>It would have relly made his life miserable and he would never forget it as the second tme is an automatic jail time.

No women (or any person for that matter) should have to put up with crap like that. There is no excuse, and if you by some chance have let him get away with it, then you've made 'your own bed' and now you have to put up with it!
Please say you 'dumped' him!

I'm imagining this scenario and I think that's totally what I'd do. I hope I never have to find out.

ok am a guy, if this was a new thing i dont know, if this is on going i dont know all i can say is wow stand back get him away from u teach him a lesson u can do better, these things get worse, women deserve better and men have to change.

I would have beat the s*hit out of his face with a frying pan (or the phone). And then choked him with the phone cord.... DO not ever tolerate this level of disrespect!!

If my husband threw the phone at me and it hit me in my face......I would probably cry first cause I am sure it hurt and then I would be pissed as hell. I would pick up the phone and beat his *** with it.

Call the police and have him arrested, then I'd move out. But definitely press charges.
