Yes, I always got money for every chore...each one had a different price... my mom hated washing the windows so I always got more for that... I think it taught me the value of working for money.... But I also had to buy all my toys and candy...except at Christmas and my birthday of course :)

No. Chores were done out of love and obligation to maintain a nice home for us to live in. If I could afford it, I would pay my kids for the EXTRA stuff they would do voluntarily.
I would make a list and then put an amount next to it. Then give the kids the opportunity to earn money that way.

No. It was our way of pulling together as a family. No allowance either. We did our chores to show respect for our parents and care for the things we had.

No, they did not. They had taught me that the house was mine too. Being mine, I should do some chores to keep my environment nice as a respect to myself and to those sharing the house.

Nope... I was praised and told to do my best ^_^
But I got 5 dollars for every A I got, though I think they didn't favor it much when I went to straight A's lol...
But for tax time, me and my little sister got 50 -100 dollars for us to spend. One time we put it together to buy a 50 gallon aquarium and it was so pretty!
It means a lot to me because my parents did that and we didn't have the most money, so I think that was a way of them making up for times they had to tell us No to toys at times...

no. allowance. Had to do the dishes after supper every night and clean your bedroom including vaccuuming every saturday morning. Got a whole dime per week for this, got it raised to a quarter when we were a little older. Needless to say, I used to work for the neighborhood old folks (lawn mowing, raking, and stuff) to make some real money.

No. The chores were our "room and board." My grandmother sent us $2.00 a week in the mail for allowance.

We got an allowance. It was paid once a week. We received deductions if something wasn't done right. And I never remember receiving a bonus for anything...lol
