ok uninstall the avg. Download zone alarm here. That should fix your problems. Zone alarm is much better. Um well i have used the spyhunter before and i think that is a fake spyware cleaner. What i mean by fake is well it picks stuff up that is not really there. The pop ups are from browser hijacker. Those are tough to get rid of. Zone alarm should be able to help u with that to.

here is a key for free so u dont have to pay for it

Do NOT download and install any more anti-virus programs unless you completely un-install current anti-virus program, your AVG.
The use of 2 anti-virus programs at the same time can cause major conflicts. The 2 scanning engines will fight each other to scan every file that you read, write or execute which can cause a slowdown. For the same reason, using 2 A-Vs can cause you to have less protection from the various malware, not more.
(Using an anti-spyware with an anti-virus is good, however and is recommended)
A much better solution, right now when your computer is apparently infected, is the use of on-line scanners.
Run both of these on-line scans. Both are free and excellent at detecting and removing malware free of charge. There is no need to un-install any of your current protections (if you have any) before using these.
1. Scan for virus, worms, dialers, etc. and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with BitDefender's Online Scanner. Press "Scan now" on the left.
http://www.bitdefender.com/
2. Scan for trojans, adware, cookies, and spyware and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with Ewido Online Scanner ( now known as AVG Anti-Spyware). This is NOT the same as AVG Anti-Virus. Press "Scan your computer now online and clean it for free!" on the left.
http://www.ewido.net/en/
These scans will take quite a bit of time. The time is necessary to clean-up an infected computer.
Good luck.

As you will appreciate there are many reasons why your computer is running slow:
I have listed the most obvious, some of which you may have already tried but for completeness they are mentioned here.
First of all make sure you do not have any malware in the form of viruses or spyware. Run your anti virus and anti spyware programs in order to clear out any beasts.
If you do not have any protection these are exceptional and available for free:
Anti virus I suggest:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Anti spyware I suggest:
http://www.superantispyware.com/
Remove junk & temporary Internet files by running Ccleaner – free for download from:
http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Your hard disk(s) may be fragmented. Windows has a built in defragmentation program but you can download a third party program for free:
http://www.auslogics.com/en/software
Your registry may be cluttered or corrupt. Ccleaner mentioned above also has a registry cleaner but how about downloading another very good free registry cleaner:
http://www.eusing.com
You may have too many programs kicking off at start up. These free downloads allow you to control what applications run at start up:
http://www.glarysoft.com/quick-startup
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
Your hard disk may be getting full. You need at least 15% of free space for it to operate efficiently. Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs & remove any applications you no longer use. How about removing all those pictures & music that is filling up your hard drive?
How about overheating? Clean all the vents on your computer with an air duster (can of compressed air). If a laptop, operate it on a hard surface so that air can flow freely around it. For a desktop, open it up and clean inside with the air duster.
Finally, after you have done all the above may need to upgrade your RAM. So that you get the right type of RAM for your system do a free scan at Crucial to determine your RAM.
http://www.crucial.com/ for USA
http://www.crucial.com/uk/ for UK
Good luck with your quest and I hope these suggestions improve your system.

I would tell him if he persist to keep downloading porn, he can move. There no reason for him to be messing up your computer when you have small children in the mix or even doing that on your computer in the first place. He can and should pay you for any repairs that if you can get fixed on your own. I would use combinations of Spybot Search and Rescue. Also try using a free download of Tuneup Utilites 2007 or 2008 to clear these up.

Does your brother have a seperate user account on your computer? If so, ctivate he user account, then it is just a simple matter of gouing into your system registry and rename the user account to reflect his name.As far as the rest of the things, you go to internet options, click on the security tab, then restricted sites tab and enter the URL of the site you wish to block.Be sure to start the string with https://www

AVG is good, but it doesn't address the issue of Spyware/ Adware. You should check out "Adaware" by lavasoft. It is free and it works.
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007-Free/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5
And if it really is YOUR computer just don't let him use it. It's pretty easy.

your brother might need his own computer to keep off of yours... if you get yourself a new tower/pc, you won't have much work to do and yours would be at a much convenient loading speed - no pop up intrusions!
put a password to lock your brother out of your and your childrens' haven :)
