There is an Indian tribe in North Dakota that is succeeding from the USA along with tribes from neighboring states. They are taking anyone as long as you are willing to denounce your American citizenship.

To add: Personally I would like to make my home Australia. I would love to work instep with Steve Irwin's dream of protecting the worlds animals, and the great barrier reef.

I seriously considered leaving the US after Reagan was elected-I saw the Republican writing on the wall. But it was too much trouble--immigration is hard to do, especially to popular countries. I've rarely voted for Presidential candidates who've won, but I have elected many local, county, state, and federal representatives I'm proud of. It just seemed depressing when I had to deal with both Jesse Helms and Reagan, but after it came out that Reagan really was senile, and Jesse really was a drunk, it didn't seem so bad.

America is a great country with wonderful opportunities. Yes, right now the government is crappy, but there is room for improvement in every country. I would not move and pursue a different citizenship unless America became a dictatorship, anarchy, or aristocracy. To move would be cowardice.

I'd like to move to the Netherlands - people there are more like me. Any Dutch women out there need a low-maintenance American husband?
