If it's a true baby (not a yearling), then it's probly scared of everything. it's very small in a world where everything is big. A giant hand in its face would scare it.

But don't hesitate if it hisses or strikes. Just keep your hand where he won't strike, and gently pick him up and handle him 4 and hour or 2. Corn snakes are the most docile of colubrids, so u'll have nothing to worry about in the future. He'll chill and watch tv with you now problem. On average, take him out about 3 times a day for 20 minutes.

Give him 7-10 days to adjust to his new home before trying to handle him or feed him. Then short gentle daily handling is all you need--they are very docile snakes and rarely bite even if not handled much. Don't handle him for at least 48 hours after a feeding or he could regurg from stress. Here's an excellent forum to ask questions and learn tons of corn info...come join us!

leave your snake alone for a week in its cage to get used to it environement so it doesent spaz out and stop eating and bite you.

Next after a week you should handle your snake at least twice a day so it can get ammune to you

The more you handle him the more he will become used to you. He might calm down once he get's use to you, but im sure he will always be curious and try to get away i think, but i could be wrong! :)

It will chill with you when it's at least a sub-adult because it'll know it's bigger then.
