December 21st is the shortest day up here, and in the southern hemisphere it is the longest day. I'd like to hear from you folks way up north or way down south. Give a description of the weather today too, to make it more interesting. Thanks. Here in Fort Collins, Colorado, in the United States, today was about 8 and a half hours of daylight, clear and cold, about 30 degrees or so. Snow on the ground, a very nice day because of the sun on the snow. Take care, and thanks for checking in.

Hi Chris. I live in Manchester in Northern England (Lat: 53.5N). Here sunrise is 8:30am and sunset is 3:45pm (7 and quarter hours daylight by my maths) The past few weeks or so we have had easterly winds which have produced cold conditions with day-time temperatures hovering around freezing, night time temps around 19F with thick white frost on the pavement (sidewalk) day and night. Today however south-westerly winds have returned and we are now in mild conditions with rain/sleet, around 40F by day and 28/30F by night. The wet pavements have frozen and i nearly died about 10 times walking my dog! It's currently quite foggy. I've always wanted to go to Colorado to see the Rockies!

I'm in northern California, so my daylight would be about the same as yours.
But...
My son lives in Anchorage, Alaska. I can't say what his sunlight is today, but 2 days ago
Sunrise: 10:13AM, Sunset: 3:41PM
Total daylight: 5 hours, 28 minutes
It's a signature at the bottom of his emails, and he's been in -- ta-dum -- Colorado since then.

Winslow, Ark. Cloudy and cold, 34 degrees. We should see about 8 1/2 hours of Daylight. Alright with me, since I prefer the Dark anyway.
