i have seen 2 natural state of oxygen
O2 that we breath
and O3 called ozone up in the sky, the ozone layer
the ozone in the sky is a gas and the dioxygen we breath is probably a gas too.

The natural state of oxygen on a planet with lots of plant life is indeed gaseous O2, produced by photosynthesis (which is where pretty well all the oxygen in the air came from), and a bit of equally natural O3 produced by UV light in the upper atmosphere.

But without life, the natural state on Earth would be CO2, silicates, and oxides, because oxygen is so reactive.

the natural state of Oxygen is a gas. this is due to the very weak intermolecular forces between the oxygen molecules.
if you look on a periodic table, it shows the state of elements in their natural state. on my PT, oxygen is red, meaning it is naturally a gas. : )

Oxygen is a diatomic gas, and diatomic means that two oxygen atoms are bonded together.
