I contacted Corporate Gap this am and put in a formal complaint. I advised them to remove their advertisement from YA, especially in the Seniors Section. I informed them that people were up in arms and it was very irrating(sp)? . I also stated that if they didn't shut it off, I personally would never step foot in one of their stores again, that many of the Seniors in the Senior Section had stated the same.
I received a very nice letter from them, thanking me for telling them, that it would be forwarded to the president and advertising.
Is it gone yet?
I hope you don't mind that I spoke for the group as this ad has been irratiting(sp?) the heck out of me and I saw many of you felt the same way

I presented the same question yesterday. It was driving me absolutely batty! I turned the speakers off, only because I wanted to smack those people. I don't care what they do for Christmas, I do care that they are dumping jet fuel into the ocean.

The darn thing is still here of course. I'm glad you contacted them. Maybe others did too. I clicked on it and went all over their site hoping I could find a way to turn it off. No luck. Maybe it will be over after Christmas. I certainly hope so. If not I am going to contact Yahoo. They decide where to place ads.

Absolutely. The forum had hundreds of complaints lodged about that #@%*& ad. Y/A promised to make changes but so far hasn't. I've turned my volume off but if this is a sign of things to come, I'll be leaving Yahoo's website completly. They aren't the only fish in the ocean.

Yes it is very annoying to say the least! Thank you for speaking for all of us.

One time I see it and the next time I don't. But I do believe it is still there. If they want to advertise, let it be a silent one like the rest of them are. Guess they just wanted to draw attention to the ad, they did, but sure wasn't the kind they wanted!

Thanks again!!!

I also contacted them last night and complained. I probably received the same email response as you. I think that if each of us did the same they would pull the ad. It's quite simple to do... just go to the Gap website and follow the link to "contact us" and then let them know what you think. I believe it was the customer service rep. The more the merrier!

It still pops up when you enter & go into the Society & Culture Category, but is is gone from the Seniors Category!
I still won't give them one red cent of my money.
I have put a cap in the Gap & they are outta my live permanently!
Gosh, I don't know how you did it, but they should hire you or at least let you have a box of their seconds to pass out to people you don't like!

LOL that's just to funny! Yes, it is irritating... you keep noticing it don't you... just turn the sound off on your computer for a day or two and it will be gone! Don't sweat the small stuff!!! you just confirmed that they are getting the advertisement they wanted and paid for! LOL

You got my blessings for taking the time to complain. Feel free to add me to the list of disgruntle seniors.

Step foot=SET foot. Yes, I do agree that it is very annoying, though I am not a senior citizen.
