All it takes is a majority vote of the House to remove the Speaker. It won't likely succeed unless the leadership directly under the Speaker is involved - they're the ones who would secretly round up the Dems votes and approach Republicans to secure their votes .

If the votes can be acquired, then it's usually mentioned to the Speaker to either resign or be voted out of the position.

With more than 15 million Democrats, you would think that there was a better choice for majority leaders than these two. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel !! One wants to be Secretary of State and the other hasn't a clue. Leaders are chosen through party caucuses within the party prior to regular sessions.

REALLY?! THAT WOULD BE WONDERFUL!!!! I haven't heard about that but I hope they do. I assume that the Dems would all get together and vote on a change in the leadership.

Must have been by the fat head. You know Limbaugh. If you don't like the dems now, just wait for another year. There are going to be a lot more positions with dems in them and one very high one.
