what kind of dirt is needed for venus fly traps. im about to transfer.

They are indigenous to coastal North Carolina, where the soil is rather poor and sandy. I'm no green-thumb guru, but my guess would be that type soil would be best for them.

Seeman gave a pretty good answer. The peat moss provides the acidity that they prefer. They actually do better in soil with very little Nitrogen. That is why they developed the bug catching, to get Nitrogen. There are potting soil mixes that are for acid loving plants but you want one that does not have plant food added. I had a terrarium with carnivorous plants and got my soil from athe edge of a pond. Worked well.

No no no!!!! Venus flytraps can only grow in spaghnum moss and if you put them in dirt it will be an overdose of nutrients so therefore it will die, make sure to give it distiled water.

i work in a garden centre. u can use plan potting mix if u want to.

put the pot in a small plate of water and that should keep it alive.

normal tap water will do.
