Yup. My parents got married in 1953 & counting. My Mom will be the first to tell you; did she ever think of divorcing my dad? Nope. Murder? Oh yeah! But divorce...never. Besides, it took her to long to train the one she's got ***wink***

They still hold hands in the car, they go to dance festivals {they live in Minnesota; home of the Polka}, and genuinely like spending time with one another. I even have reason to believe that even though there's snow on the roof, there's still fire in the furnace!

Did us kids inherit their longivity? My brothers did. Eighteen years and 13 years respectively. It took me a second try; I have 8 1/2 years with my hubby.

Everything has become disposable, especially marriage. Can it be done? Absolutely. Are couples willing to? Not so much.

It does not matter how modern the world gets,
all things are still possible including being married
once and living happily ever after until one passes
away. How do I know, my parents were married
for 55yrs before they passed away, and me and
my wife are married over 20yrs and will be
togeather until the passing of one of us away.
Society, modernrization, and nothing else can
intefere in a marriage that is rock solid, and what
makes it that way are the two people involved.

I'm seeing a lot of people getting married for the wrong reasons just recently.

I honestly believe it's possible to marry only once, as long as you're not both a pair of idiots. Honesty is very important. I think when people marry, sometimes they're considering the possibility that someone better will come along one day or that they can have their "bit on the side" when they get bored of their partner.

Until death do you part means just that.

Yes, it is possible.
And, not all marriages end in divorce. My grandparents never divorce, 7 out of 9 groups of Aunt &Uncles of mine still happily married (one never was married, the other is divorced), and tons of my other family and friends are still happily married.
Sure, divorce is a lot more common then it used to be. But happy marriages do still exist.

yes it is possible. My husband and I got married in 1995, we have had our rocky roads, but we are in it for the long haul. The only reason that people seem to get divorced in todays modern world is because they do not want to try to work on their marriage. It is not always easy, and not always picture perfect, but you have to take it one day at a time.

It's possible if you are actually sure that you're in love. I know many couples that have only been married once so far. My dad was divorced before, but my mom hasn't, and I know my parents will never divorce.

I would have liked to be as my parents or grandparents & live with my first spouse till the end but it didn;t work that way. Sometimes it takes trial & error to be happy. In my world, there are many I know that marriage works just fine. Its true though, there are uncountless divorces but please do not let this interfer with your future Mr. or Ms. right.

I'll never get divorced. I think people don't understand that not only do they commit to a person but the relationship as well. Society is really going down hill :(

i don't think so. i think of divorce is so uncomplicated because of the fact human beings marry for undesirable reasons. i could say merely a share of human beings actual get married for genuine-blue love. I actual have met a great style of lonely people who merely want to fulfill somebody they are in a place to handle. i've got met people who merely want to get married and start up a kin so they are in a place to sense like they belong to something or to sense enjoyed. i've got met people who marry the day or week they met because of the fact "they had a solid feeling", and then there are shotgun weddings. additionally modern-day addictions like drugs, alchohol & shoppping can kill a promising union speedy. human beings oftentimes see marriage as a disposable difficulty and don't sense "caught", each and every so often a solid difficulty and each so often undesirable. i think of there'll constantly be triumphant marriages, even even though it must be somewhat tried for, this is not something you merely get.
