We have a 3 year old Lennox Furnace and returned home to find the house very, very cold.

We turned the furnace main switch off then on, reset house circuit breakers, and pattern keeps repeating.

Furnace starts and can feel some hot air out of vents, stays on about two minutes, then shuts down. A while later, it may kick in again and repeat same 2 minute on cycle.

What's going on?

i had a oil burner for years in my old farm house and after many cold nights i learned how to fix and work on every part on that thing. if i were to have to take a guess i would look at the blower motot first make sure it is kicking on. if it isnt it could be either the motor or the little "MOTHER BOARD" that tells it when to kick on. to check the motor with out any tools let the furnace kick on when it does make sure you have the area where the blower is uncovered and when the furnace runs for a couple of min it should at least make a humming noise. if it dont maybe look at the board.

You might be out of oil, you might have an obstruction or there might be an air pocket in which case you will need to purge the line...

It sounds like you have air in your oil line, try bleading the line and re-start. If that dosen't solve the problem the call you tec to come in and clean the system, you might just have a clogged point or filter.
