I have a n opportunity to buy a notebook for $200. It has everything but the wireless card. Would you pay this amount? Is this a good price? Help. I don't know enough to be able to tell.

Depends on what model Presario it is, an early model such as the 300 wouldn't be worth it, on a new one it could be a very good buy. Find out the model number and post it and I can give you a better answer.

Most new hard drives are SATA. Your old notebook as IDE. There are two different connectors and technologies. The old machine is probably not going to see all of a drive larger than, say 40G, if that much. There may be a bios flash still available if you get really lucky.

You can always buy wireless networking card separately, but with those specific details, it isn't possible to determine whether or not the laptop is worth it.
