The human brain is yielding its secrets by leaps and bounds. What researchers are finding out is that the brain, and consciousness, works on codes, languages, something similar to computer programs. It wasn't long ago that scientists decoded the visual cortex of a typical house cat. They were able to place 177 electrodes in the cat's visual cortex of its brain and, with the help of a supercomputer, read the visual codes for visual information. That information was then converted to standard video signal format and fed into a video monitor. The researchers were able to see what the cat was seeing. One scientist stated that it was just like being inside the cat's head and looking out its eyes. They feel that the brain uses pretty much the same coding/decoding process and, that it wouldn't be long until other significant areas of the brain would be understood in the same fashion.
Yes, the brain is a mechanism that can, and will, be fully understood.
A lot of these breakthroughs are the result of research into the so called human/computer interface and government mind control studies involving fMRI and TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) research.
