The problem with a pathological liar isn't that they wont admit to things, rather that you never know if what they are admitting to is in itself a lie.

After going to a psychologist and identifying that she has a "border line personality", my step-daughter has finally figured out the reasons why she lies. So, she admits that she's a pathological liar but she "working on it". Whatever that means.

I don't believe so. And if i were i think it would be confusing to tell the difference between a lie and the truth. So i wouldn't know which to say!

yeah of course they can. they dont always have to lie it just happens that they cant help but lie very often.
