Marijuana and cocaine are known to have backflashes later on in life so do we want a man with his finger on the button to be a admitted supposedly x drug user?

We've had a drug and alcohol abuser with his finger on the button for the last 7 years. And no, I don't believe that Obama will have "backflashes". Cocaine addicts, which Obama was not, can have flashbacks a few months after quitting. I've never heard of marijuana users suffering flashbacks. In any case, Obama openly stated he used these illicit drugs as a teenager, which was 30 years ago.

First of all I think you mean flashbacks which are associated with LSD not cocaine or pot. Almost everybody of a certain age has tried pot it was what everybody was doing so you would have to disqualify everybody between the ages of 65 and 35. Bill Clinton smoked as did Al Gore, George Bush and probably every candidate running today with the exception of maybe Romney.. Also George Washington and Thomas Jefferson smoked it and wrote letters back and forth giving tips on how to best cultivate and isolate the flowering female plants. These letters are in the Smithsonian. Cocaine is a bigger problem as to its effects on the brain it really can make you stupid and who was known as a big coke head.... yes you guessed it George Bush. I think it is more dangerous to have a president with early stage dementia(Reagan), or on anti-depressants (JFK and Richard Nixon). Al Gore and Tipper followed the Grateful Dead for a summer so its very likely that they experimented with LSD it doesn't seem to have affected their ability to function

He made a mistake and seems to have learned from it, and has been candid about it. Bush on the other hand tried to hide and cover up his drug use as long as he could! So I respect Obama for his candor. At least he's honest, something the current president should try to emulate.

This is not news! He did the drug bit during his teenage years & wrote about it in his book. I very much doubt that he has any effects at this late date. If you want to fault the man, find something in his platform that you do not like & post about that!

I doubt it...he only did drugs as a teenager. Not like Bush who was snorting coke well into adulthood.
