just do a web search for Community theatres in LA there are plenty

You didn't mention where you live, and I'm sure you are aware that two people can easily live sixty miles apart and still be in "LA."
I live in Torrance, and there is an excellent amateur theater group here that puts on a couple of plays each year in the Nakano Theater in the Torrance Civic Center.
Since Torrance (population 140,000) is less than 1% of the population of the greater Los Angeles area, I'm sure there must be many more, and that once you contact one, there will be a trail that can lead to others.
