First of all its not at all addictive if you have control over yourself.
Still to be on safer side and save yourself from embarassment make sure you clear the internet history after going online.
Its just at Tools -> Internet Options -> third tab on General Tab is clear History.

You can start by using a password to log in to Windows. This will make it harder for your parents to access the machine without your permission. However, it depends on how much they know about computers.
Another method is to always clear your browsing history. I would also look at getting a program such as PrivacyEraser (http://www.privacyeraser.com/?referrer=googlecpc&gclid=CKGH8N66vpACFQ6ZQwoddAv5Wg) or Clean Disk Security (http://www.diskcleaners.com/clndisk.html) . You may have to pay for something like this though.
Also, remember that if you simply delete files they could be undeleted. Therefore, you may want to get a program which will shred or overwrite the file before it is deleted.
If you implement any of these strategies you should do it in a none obvious way so that your parents do not get suspicious.
Get some anti-virus and anti-spyware software to check for software running in the background that could record what you do on your computer. Take a look at AVG, Spybot and AdAware.

Lol I take it no-one ere has EVER heard of Acronis Privicy Expert?? Take it from me this is 1 powerfull program.. Allow's deep dystruction of data from every section of your computer...
it even has an option 2 format the "Free Space"on your HD.
E.g. U jus cleared something from the HD but the tracks still remain.. format the HD freespace and it will overwrite ALL the free space with several diffrint encryption settings..
Acronis will stand up 2 just about anything short of a ferensics lab...... So unless your parent's r Computer Ferensics professionl's you have nothing 2 worry about...
Emily did u read what i said??? Acronis formats the FreeSpace on your hard drive.. The space that's left AFTER u delete your history\picture\file directory.. Short of a top-notch ferensics lab Acronis will compleaty erase everything.

Well, as others said you CAN go and delete your browsing history.
BUT...
It WILL still be on the hard drive of your computer. There are very accessible downloads that people can download, then use to look through it. I'm just saying this as a word of warning.
Most likely your parents will not use those programs, so you are pretty safe just deleting the history. :]

So I'm assuming things when you say "stuff", but anyway I think I know what you mean.
Well, you can clear your browser history. This would make it impossible to view.
