it can't be rare if its common.

"love" is common, but true love that expects nothin in return is rare and precious.

Define commodity. Presumably you mean philosophical commodity (if such a combination exists). Philosophically speaking, there's enough love around to stop us destroying each other (at least to date); but a lot of that is self interest masquerading as love; and many of us don't kill our neighbours because of the consequences to ourselves meted out by society, not because we are naturally forbearing. Unfortunately, we are all so self-deluded as to our motives for our seemingly altruistic behaviour that the whole thing is impossible to quantify.

Unless, of course, you believe in the universal, unconditional love of God, in which case yes, love is the commonest commodity.

If we decide that real love is rare; then what is or are the common commodities?

Love IS the commonest comodity on earth.

It's what binds the concept we call 'LIFE'.

We are all capable of producing vast measures of 'Love' as well as receiving it.

Ultimately though, 'LOVE' is the energy that drives our world, which in turn, has a vital role in the driving of our Universe.

PEACE,

Pete.

Love is the most common emotion of Earth, with everyone harmonically intertwined with the grid of natural life in a fractal sense. I trust most easily the Aristotilean views of Love.

Eros is passionate love, with sensual desire and longing.

Philia means friendship in modern Greek, a dispassionate virtuous love, was a concept developed by Aristotle.

Agape means "love" in modern day Greek as in "I love you"

Thelema means "desire".

Storge means "affection"

I think hate is the most common. True love is the rarest.

I'm not sure love is a commodity at all...so I don't quite know how to answer the question...

It's the commonest !

But rarely respected, so it dies very often before it can blossom.

Largely dependant upon who you are, for some it is there at the end of their fingertips, yet they would never deign to call it commonplace.

For others who have searched, sought it all their lives only to feel more bereft and remiss than the outset of their search.

God, Love, Peace...some are thoroughly imbued, others crave and yearn and never find....

May you be loved as you would desire to be.....

I think love is common, but to really seriously love someone, you are there through everything. Even if it the toughest of times, you are by their side. Always!
